Using the directory
Use ChimneyScout lawfully and provide accurate information when creating an account or submitting material. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service. You must be an adult and have authority to act for any business you claim to represent.
What ChimneyScout provides
ChimneyScout provides business information and tools for requesting ownership claims and listing updates. It does not perform chimney services, act as the provider’s employer, or become a party to an agreement between a homeowner and a provider.
Listings, claims, and charges
Basic listings and claims are currently free. No subscription purchase is required to submit a basic claim. Claim approval does not guarantee publication of every requested change or a particular search position. Any future paid offering will have its price and applicable conditions disclosed separately before purchase.
Accounts and submissions
Keep your sign-in details secure and contact us if you suspect unauthorized use. Submit only information you have permission to share. By submitting listing content, you permit ChimneyScout to store, review, format, and display that content as needed to operate the directory. Private claim notes are used for review rather than routine public display.
Review and moderation
We may request supporting information, reject or correct inaccurate material, resolve conflicting claims, or restrict accounts that misuse the service. Do not impersonate others, make false claims, upload unlawful content, interfere with security, harvest private information, or send unsolicited messages through the service.
Choosing and hiring a provider
You are responsible for checking a provider’s qualifications, insurance, availability, pricing, and suitability for your work. Obtain and review your agreement with the provider. A listing, ownership claim, or search position is not a recommendation, certification, or guarantee.
Availability and accuracy
The directory is provided as available. Information may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date, and interruptions can occur. To the extent permitted by applicable law, ChimneyScout makes no warranties about uninterrupted availability, completeness of listings, or a provider’s services or results.
Responsibility and limits
Providers are responsible for their own work, estimates, charges, and conduct. To the extent permitted by law, ChimneyScout is not responsible for losses arising from provider work or reliance on third-party listing information. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
External sites
Links to business websites and other services are provided for convenience. Their own terms and privacy practices apply. ChimneyScout does not control those sites.
Changes and questions
We may update the service and these terms. The date on this page identifies the latest revision. Questions, complaints, or requests to correct information can be sent to info@chimneyscout.com.
